I have had a lifelong interest in the natural world and have been enjoying portraying it since childhood. My first adventures in photography were encouraged by my father, also a keen photographer, who kindly allowed me the use of his darkroom. The magic of seeing those first black and white prints slowly develop on blank sheets has never left me. The advent of digital photography has allowed almost instant feedback and, to one raised on conventional photographic techniques, amazing flexibility in the subsequent manipulation of images compared to the laborious darkroom techniques that I was raised on.
